Carrera Cup Italia 2016: pronta sulla starting grid

Giunta al decimo compleanno, riparte il 30 aprile 2016 all’Autodromo nazionale di Monza la nuova edizione della Carrera Cup Italia, con un nuovo format e tante novità all’insegna della spettacolarità.

La nuova impostazione permette di estendere la partecipazione al Campionato ad un parterre più ampio di team e piloti, in modo da equiparare le chances di vittoria tra chi corre da solo e chi corre in coppia. Ma saranno il talento del pilota e la preparazione della squadra a fare la differenza. Il team in questo caso avrà un ruolo cruciale: dovendo gestire strategie, pit stop, cambi pilota.

Ciascuna gara Sprint sarà disputata da un pilota (chi corre da solo potrà scegliere il punteggio da far valere per la classifica), mentre nella gara di durata il punteggio verrà attribuito all’equipaggio. Le griglie di partenza delle gare Sprint saranno definite da due turni di qualifiche da 15’, mentre lo schieramento domenicale della gara endurance verrà stilato sommando i giri più veloci ottenuti nelle due sessioni cronometrate. I piloti avranno la possibilità di stare il 30% del tempo in più in pista rispetto al 2015 (il programma prevede anche due turni di prove libere da 40’ per ogni fine settimana). Un’altra novità di quest’anno è la possibilità di partecipare al campionato sfruttando il racing car sharing, una piacevole sorpresa, che per la prima volta permetterà anche a chi non possiede una vettura, di partecipare al Campionato affrontando costi più contenuti. Porsche Italia, nella serie del decennale, ha infine deciso di elevare il montepremi a 300.000 Euro: ci saranno premi in denaro a ogni gara e quelli finali per i primi tre classificati. Al team vincitore invece spetterà un’iscrizione gratuita alla stagione 2017.

Come racconta Pietro Innocenti, Direttore Generale di Porsche Italia “Per la decima edizione abbiamo pensato ad una formula ancora più avvincente. L’obiettivo è quello di amalgamare ancora meglio le tre anime che compongono il nostro monomarca, “pro”, “rookie” e “gentleman driver”. I titoli in palio saranno sempre due: Assoluto e Michelin Cup per i piloti gentleman. Ma la vera rivoluzione è nel format di gara che permetterà di dividere una vettura fra due driver, anche se ogni pilota marcherà punti individualmente. Ciascuno dei sette weekend di gara sarà infatti composto da tre gare, due Sprint da 25’ con partenza da fermo che si disputeranno il sabato, e una mini-endurance di 45’ con start lanciato alla domenica con sosta obbligatoria tra il 20° e il 26° minuto. Inoltre abbiamo introdotto un nuovo premio destinato al Centro Porsche che, in partnership con un team, vincerà la classifica Carrera Cup Italia riservata alle squadre”.

Al termine della conferenza stampa di presentazione della Carrera Cup Italia 2016 a Milano, sono stati celebrati i Campioni della serie 2015: Riccardo Agostini, giovane pilota dell’Antonelli Motorsport – Centro Porsche Padova, ha conquistato in pista lo spazio nell’Albo d’Oro della serie italiana e il Casco d’Oro di Autosprint, come miglior pilota dei campionati monomarca 2015. Il 21enne pilota padovano ha centrato il titolo assoluto al primo tentativo con cinque vittorie, tre pole position e quattro giri più veloci; nessuno ha saputo fare meglio di lui con la 911 GT3 Cup nella scorsa stagione.

Carrera Cup Italy 2016 ready on the starting grid [English version]

Reached the tenth birthday, on April 30 2016  the new edition of the Carrera Cup Italy, will start at the Autodromo nazionale di Monza with a new format and many new features.

The new approach makes it possible to extend participation in the League to awider audience of teams and drivers, in order to equalize the chances of winning between who runs by itself and those who run in pairs. But will the talent of the pilot and preparing by the team to make the difference; the team in this situation will have a crucial role: having to manage strategies, pit stop, the driver change.

Each Sprint race will be played by a pilot (who runs by itself can choose the score to enforce his position), while in the endurance race the score will be awarded to the crew. The starting grids of Sprint races will be determined by two rounds of qualifications from 15’, while the deployment endurance race of Sunday will be compiled by adding up the fastest laps obtained in the two timed sessions. The pilots will be able to stand the 30% more time on the track than the 2015 (the program also includes two rounds of free practice from 40′ to every weekend). Also new this year is the opportunity to participate in the League by taking advantage of the racing car sharing, a pleasant surprise, that for the first time will allow even those who don’t own a car, to participate in the Cahmpionship affording less costs. Porsche Italy, in the 10^th anniversary years, decided to raise the prize money to 300,000 Euros: there will be cash prizes in each race and end points for the top three. The winning team will have a free subscription to the 2017 season.

As told by Pietro Innocenti, Managing Director of Porsche Italy “for the 10th edition we have designed a formula even more compelling. The goal is to mix even better three souls that make up our flagship store, “pro”, “rookie” and “gentlemen drivers”. The titles up for grabs will always be two: absolute and Michelin Cup for gentleman drivers. But the real revolution is in the race format which will allow to split a car between two drivers, although each pilot will mark points individually. Each of the seven race weekend will be composed of three races, two sprints from standing start, 25′ that will be played on Saturday, and a mini-endurance of 45′ with start launched Sunday with mandatory stop between the 20th and 26th minute. We also introduced a new award aimed at Porsche Centre which, in partnership with a team, will win the ranking Carrera Cup Italy reserved for teams”.

At the end of the press conference Porsche celebrated the champions of the 2015 series: Riccardo Agostini, young pilot Antonelli Motorsport – Porsche Centre Padova, won on the track the space in the Italian Series Champions and the Casco d’Oro Autosprint, as best pilot of single-brand Championships 2015. The 21-year-old F1 has centered on overall title at the first attempt with five wins, three pole positions and four fastest laps; no one has been able to do better than he did with the 911 GT3 Cup last season. Team Tsunami RT won the teams Championship, thanks to the results obtained by Côme Ledogar, the Frenchman who fought for the overall title until the last race, and Ukrainian Oleksandr Gaidai. Fans can follow updates on the Carrera Cup Italy 2016 on Twitter with the @carreracupitaly account on the website http://www.carreracupitalia.it and relive the past two seasons of competition on youtube from the Carrera Cup Italy Channel.
