Una nuova ed intrigante iniziativa del CMAE (Club Milanese Autoveicoli d’Epoca), ha fatto apparire come per magia 13 Ferrari del periodo 1949-1952 nel centro di Milano.

Grazie al “Celebration Tour” infatti, 15 Ferrari d’epoca carrozzate Touring sono state esposte l’11 settembre 2019 in Piazza Belgioioso, proprio davanti alla casa in cui visse Alessandro Manzoni.

Si tratta di esemplari unici per fascino, autenticità e valore, uniti da un denominatore comune che proprio nel capoluogo lombardo affonda le sue radici: la Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, fiore all’occhiello dell’industria automobilistica italiana da oltre 90 anni, ancora oggi particolarmente attiva nella realizzazione di auto fuori serie.

La data non è stata scelta casualmente in quanto 71 anni fa, per l’esattezza il 15 settembre del 1948, il design rivoluzionario della carrozzeria milanese plasmò le fiammanti e potenti auto del “Cavallo rampante”, dando vita ad intramontabili esempi di stile e design, capaci anche di trionfare per diversi anni nelle più importanti competizioni automobilistiche, come avvenne proprio nel 1948 con la gloriosa doppia vittoria della Ferrari 166MM Touring alla Mille Miglia e alla 24 Ore di Le Mans.

Per celebrare questo doppio anniversario, alcuni tra i nomi più importanti del collezionismo d’auto al mondo si sono dati appuntamento per un tour privato a bordo delle loro Ferrari carrozzate Touring. Rarissime saranno le occasioni di poter rivedere in futuro Ferrari come queste: 166MM Touring Barchetta, 166MM Touring LM Berlinetta, 212 Export Berlinetta, 212 Export Barchetta, 212 Inter Berlinetta, 340 America Berlinetta e 166 Touring Inter Coupe, la prima ‘Superleggera’ – insieme all’Alfa Romeo Disco Volante e alla più moderna Ferrari 488 Spider. L’unica occasione simile avvenne in passato solo una volta, nel 1989 al noto Concorso di eleganza di Pebble Beach, in California, dove fu possibile ammirare sette di questi esemplari radunati in unico luogo.

 

Il percorso del “Celebration Tour” partendo da Milano ha toccato le rive del Lago Maggiore, per raggiungere il MAUTO – Museo nazionale dell’automobile di Torino, dove sei di queste vetture si sono fermate e dove rimarranno esposte fino al 1° ottobre 2019.

166 is the magic number [English version]

An intriguing new initiative of the CMAE (Club Milanese Automotoveicoli d’Epoca), bring up 13 Ferrari in the center of Milan.

Thanks to the “Celebration Tour”, 15 vintage Ferrari bodyworked by Touring were exhibited on September 11, 2019 in Piazza Belgioioso, right in front of the house where Alessandro Manzoni lived.

These are unique examples for charm, authenticity and value, united by a common denominator that has its roots in the capital of Lombardy: the Touring Superleggera bodywork, the flagship of the Italian automotive industry for over 90 years, still particularly active today in the construction of off-series cars.

The date was not chosen randomly since 71 years ago, to be exact on September 15, 1948, the revolutionary design of the Milanese bodywork molded the flaming and powerful cars of the “Rampant Horse”, giving rise to timeless examples of style and design, Also able to triumph for several years in the most important motor racings, as happened in 1948 with the glorious double victory of the Ferrari 166MM Touring at the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

To celebrate this double anniversary, some of the world’s leading car collectors have set out for a private tour aboard their Touring Ferraris. Very rare opportunities to be able to review Ferrari in the future like these: 166MM Touring Barchetta, 166MM Touring LM Berlinetta, 212 Export Berlinetta, 212 Export Barchetta, 212 Inter Berlinetta, 340 America Berlinetta and 166 Touring Inter Coupe, the first ‘ Superlight’ – along with the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante and the more modern Ferrari 488 Spider. The only such occasion occurred in the past only once, it happened in 1989 at the well-known Pebble Beach Elegance Competition in California, where it was possible to admire seven of these specimens gathered in one place.

The route of the “Celebration Tour” starting from Milan has touched the shores of Lake Maggiore, to reach the MAUTO – National Automobile Museum of Turin, where six of these cars have stopped and where they will remain on display until 1 October 2019.
