Le creazioni di Jan Rambousek con il team di Unique & Limited oltre a viaggiare a ritroso nel tempo ricreando importanti spaccati di storia dell’automobilismo sportivo, sono in grado di restituire al passato molto più fascino di quanto spesso i nostri ricordi siano in grado di offrirci.

Con la loro combinazione unica di fotografia e grafica 3D avanzata il team di Jan riesce a ricreare sorprendenti opere d’arte; come lui stesso racconta:”la nostra missione è quella di ridare energia a frammenti di storia, facendo tornare in vita emozioni e sensazioni che la macchina fotografica non ha potuto cogliere in quel preciso istante”. Ciò può avvenire solamente grazie al lavoro di abili artisti e creativi e utilizzando le moderne tecnologie digitali, capaci di trasformare un semplice schizzo in un emozionante “tableau vivant”. Un modo nuovo per rivivere la storia, che ricorda in qualche modo le immagini delle riviste illustrate che si erano diffuse in Europa alla fine del ottocento, quando in mancanza di sistemi di informazione più rapidi ed immediati si raccontava al mondo attraverso bellissime illustrazioni qualche evento emozionante accaduto in un luogo remoto.

L’idea di Jan, arrivata dopo dieci anni di lavoro con esigenti clienti nel settore della pubblicità, lo ha portato a seguire la sua vera passione senza i limiti e i vincoli imposti dal business.

Nel 2012 ha cominciato a sviluppare le prime immagini per il noto progetto delle Silver Arrows, illustrato in modo esteso nell’articolo: Viaggiando nel tempo con le frecce d’argento. Un’opera d’arte costituita da una serie di 12 immagini che ricreano momenti epici e cruciali delle competizioni di Formula uno dell’epoca anteguerra, quando le frecce d’argento (Mercedes e Auto Union) avevano stabilito una superemazia assoluta nell’ambito delle corse.

Oggi Jan e il suo team hanno proseguito con la stessa logica sviluppando immagini affascinanti e ricreando fotogrammi che rappresentano alcune mitiche vetture come la Porsche 917K, la Maserati 250F, la Bugatti T35, piuttosto che la Ferrari 250 GTO e “congelando” alcuni istanti di celebri competizioni che hanno contribuito a renderle celebri come la 24 ore di Le Mans del 1962 e la Targa Florio del 1964.

Si tratta di spaccati “epici” che mettono in risalto non solo la velocità ma l’istinto eroico e sprezzante del pericolo dei piloti, che trova punti in comune con le capacità e il coraggio dei piloti di aerei della non così lontana II^ guerra mondiale. Certo l’ambito è totalmente diverso, ma diversi legami tra i due temi come ad esempio il patriottismo, il coraggio e il rapporto esasperato tra il mezzo meccanico e il suo pilota certamente esistono. Forse per questo motivo il team di Jan Rambousek si è spinto in un ambito che esce dallo specifico mondo delle corse per affondare le mani nella storia dell’aviazione britannica con la rappresentazione del progetto “The Flying Heroes”, pensato per celebrare il 75° anniversario delle feroci battaglie aeree avvenute nei cieli durante la II^ Guerra mondiale e che nel 2015 è stato esposto con grande successo al Goodwood Revival.

Una avvincente corsa nel tempo che come nel romanzo “La macchina del tempo” di H.G. Wells del 1895, magari porterà il team di Unique & Limited a spingersi addirittura nella “antica” storia dello spazio. Ne vedremo delle belle…

On the time machine with Jan Rambousek [English version]

The art creations of Jan Rambousek with the Unique & Limited team more than travel back in time to recreate important slices of history of motor sport, are able to give back to the past much more charm than our memories are often able to offer us.

With their unique combination of photography and advanced 3D graphics Jan team manages to recreate amazing works of art; as he himself says: “Our mission is to re-energize inspiring stories from the past by using modern technology to create premium large-scale prints that allow present and future generations to experience history like never before”. This can only be done by skilled artists and creative and using modern digital technologies, capable of transforming a simple sketch on an exciting “tableau vivant”. A new way to experience the history, that somehow reminds the images of illustrated magazines that had spread in Europe in the late nineteenth century, when in the absence of more rapid and immediate communication systems said to the world through beautiful illustrations some exciting event happened in a remote place.After ten years of working with demanding customers in the advertising industry, the idea of Jan led him to follow his true passion without the limitations and constraints imposed by the business. In 2012 he began to develop the first images for the well known Silver Arrows project, which is exposed extensively in the article: Traveling in time with the silver arrows.  An artwork consisting of a series of 12 images that recreate epic moments and crucial pre-war era of Formula One racing, when the silver arrows (Mercedes and Auto Union) had established an absolute superemazia in the context of racing.Today Jan and his team have continued with the same logic developing fascinating pictures and recreating frames that represent some mythical cars like the Porsche 917K, Maserati 250F, the Bugatti T35, rather than the Ferrari 250 GTO and “freezing” a few moments of famous competitions that helped make them famous like the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1962 and the Targa Florio of 1964.This is the epic split that highlight not only the speed but the heroic instinct and contemptuous of the danger of the drivers, that find points in common with the skills and courage of the pilots in the not so distant World War II. Of course the context is totally different, but several links between the two themes such as patriotism, courage and the exasperated relationship between the mechanical means and its pilot certainly exist. Perhaps this is why the team of Jan Rambousek went into an area that leaves the specific world of racing to sink the hands in British aviation history with the representation of the project “The Flying Heroes”, designed to celebrate the 75 anniversary of the fierce battles that took place in the skies during World War II and that in 2015 has been exposed with great success at Goodwood Revival.

A compelling race in time as in the novel “The time machine” by H.G. Wells of 1895, perhaps will lead the team of Unique & Limited to push even the breaks of space history. We will see more soon …
